Einhorn 22 and Skagerrak - Two New Ugress Tracks
by GMM on October 2nd 2008, at 12:10 CET

To celebrate the premiere of Kometkameratene, two super shiny new Ugress tracks are released.

Einhorn 22

Skagerrak (Featuring Christine Litle)

These tracks symbolically mark the span of the Unicorn era - they each represent the start and the end of the album process. Einhorn 22 was the very first track made specifically with the album in mind, back in October 2005, and Skagerrak the last track being filtered out during the selection process.

Both tracks went through several versions, I remember we had a lot of discussion around Einhorn 22. I very much wanted to include it on the album. The released version of Einhorn 22 is the live version.

Skagerrak describes perfectly the awesodepressing rainy landscapes I see during my bus journey every day.

Einhorn 22 describes perfectly the dark ambience and the lonely shards of light in my living room, the rain wiping me out outside.

Perfectly describing tracks. Agreededly they don't fit Unicorn per say, but alone they are perfect. Kudos.

Wehe! Another 22-track!!

Agree with sysrg868, probably wouldn't fit on Unicorn, but neverthelessm great stuff!

The opening on Eindhorn is particularily great!

(And yes, thanks for keeping up the tradition of giving out some music for free!)

That Einherjer-song reminded me of mid-80's-type depeche mode - although in a caffeine-infected-and-hyped-up kind of way :)

Thanks dudes and dudettes, glad you enjoy them. Yes, Einherjerhorn 22 is very mid-80ies, i was aiming for a Wong Kar Wai theme mashed into the 80ies thing.
