On Friday June 27nd, I’m live with a commissioned concert at Finse, Norway.
“Lyden av Finse”, with the alternative title “Stjerneføyk”, is a musical sound-art performance, based on field recordings, sounds and samples from the mountains and Western Norway. This performance was originally made for the Constitution Day celebration back in 2017, and back then performed outdoors amongst the snow glaciers.
Finse is the highest station on the epic Bergen-Oslo train line, and also the icy location of “The Empire Strikes Back”. It is also a spot for arctic training for polar explores, as well as extreme endurance athletes of all kinds. There are of course references to all of this in the performance.
For this version, which will be indoors and at night at the fireplace in the beautiful historic Blåsalen, I’m updating and extending this dark fairytale work with new sounds, segments and characters.
This will the opening concert of Finsefest 2025, the summer season opening.
