“We are all living in a Edward Hopper painting these days.”
But before Hopper there was Danish painter Vilhelm Hammershøi and his beautiful, quiet living rooms. These rooms are the setting for the realtime music video of upcoming Ugress track “Concierto de Aranjuez (Planet Hikikomori)” from next week’s album “Scavenger Royale”, arriving on June 17th 2021.
The music is a cover version of the popular 1939 guitar concert work by Spanish composer Joaquín Rodrigo, specifically the adagio movement. The visuals are realtime performance in motion graphic remixes of 19th century Danish artist Hammershøi.
The track is performed live with responsive visuals during the monthly livestream shows, this track was first performed on the May 20th show, 2021. You can watch a playlist of all previous episodes. The track and full album will drop in all services June 17th.
